Marriage Moment: Take Five
Have you ever been tempted to say, "As soon as this difficult rotation is over or as soon as this project is done, then we'll take time for our marriage?" Or maybe you have said, "As soon as the baby is weaned we'll take time for each other. Sometimes taking special time for each other never happens. You are often both juggling too many responsibilities. Author and speaker, Dr. Wayne Sotile encourages us by saying, "People with stress-resilient marriages nourish the relationships while they are waiting for those other things to happen." Therefore, I would like to encourage you to take five. Take five minutes to do the small things for each other that mean so much. It only takes five minutes or less to rub your husband's shoulders, encourage him with kind words, ask him to hold you in the morning before crawling out of bed, or hold his hand while walking or driving. These are small investments that you can make in your marriage to keep it healthy.
Side by Side Columbus Keeps Growing

I'm so delighted with the growth our group has had this year and grateful everytime I hear from someone within the group comment that they or their marriage has grown as a result of meeting with Side by Side. We are currently studying the book, Five Love Languages, by Gary Chapman. It's amazing! It doesn't matter how many times I have read that book, my marriage still benefits as I read something that will help it continue to grow. Isn't that what we all long for? A marriage that is growing.

Welcome to all of the new members! We're so excited to have you as part of our group. We hope that you will find a warm, welcoming, encouraging atmosphere.
To officially welcome all of our new members, we will be having a cookout on the last Wednesday of July, from 11-1 pm. Those of us who are current members will be providing the food. Just bring yourself and your family! The cookout will take place at Scioto Park, the same place we have all of our weekly summer meetings.
A special message regarding Kristin Sorensen and her family - They will be moving to MN, flying out the morning of July 29th. If you haven't had a chance to say goodbye to her, please send her an email or facebook message!
Looking forward to seeing all of you there!
